Here’s what I find perplexing in the world of network marketing: LOTS of people like and comment when you post a status about looking for a job or starting a new career path but those same people scroll past status posts about your home biz. I’ve been observing this practice for well over a year now.
I don’t post much on my timeline about my home biz…anymore. I did frequently almost two years ago when I started something new online, but I’ve learned A LOT since those beginner online marketing days.
I’m not necessarily talking about personal friends here. I’m actually referring to EVERYONE, but specifically talking about my network marketer friends.
Y’all KNOW how this works. The more people who like or comment on your status post, the more exposure it gets. You want others to like and comment on your biz posts, yet you don’t return the favor. WHY is that?
I admit that I don’t hit everyone, every day – but I DO at least like your biz posts when I see them, even if I can’t or am not interested in buying or joining. I’m not afraid. Yes, some new people will message me afterwards, asking if I’m interested…That’s fine because it opens the door of communication with them that otherwise probably wouldn’t happen.
Let’s go a bit deeper. I am talking about you “established” marketers. Why are YOU afraid to like or comment? You do it for your “popular” friends, why not the rest of us? Some of you will like an ad I’ve posted in a spam group, but can’t seem to do the same on my timeline.
Have you ever thought that your other “popular” biz friends are popular bc you liking & commenting are giving their posts more exposure? Why not do that for some of the “less popular” folks? You liking or commenting on my biz status might allow a friend or two of yours to also read my status and, who knows…I may be able to help them with the products I offer. They may actually begin a dialog with me.
I’ve witnessed some of my non-marketer friends commenting on my marketer friend’s non-biz post after I liked or commented. Same thing happens to biz ones. Your friends are watching and following what you are doing out there – biz or not.
If you’re promoting and selling an eBook on your timeline, I like and/or comment. If you’re promoting and selling some weight loss drink, healthy stuff, wraps, lotions & potions, I like and/or comment. Not always, not everyone, but I do my best to support you in your efforts. I like and/or comment because I ENDORSE YOU. I SUPPORT YOU
I even like and/or comment on competitor posts. WHY? Because not everyone is gonna fall in love with me and everything my home biz or products offers. For example, maybe my friend is ONLY interested in nail care products….so if I like someone’s Jamberry post, my friend may see that particular post whereas otherwise they would not have. So even if we are “competitors”, I am telling MY FRIENDS that I LIKE and TRUST you. It’s more of an endorsement of you the person than you the product.
So, rethink scrolling past people’s biz posts. Help each other in ANY WAY that you can.
PEACE
