I ponder things all the time.  Seriously.  I even envisioned having a newspaper or magazine column called “Pam’s Ponderings” or “Ponderings of Pam” or something like that.  LOL

What would happen if?  Why does…?  How come…?  What if we…?  ALL THE TIME.  I believe that my mind just cannot rest.  The mind is very powerful.  I have read that the brain cannot determine the difference between real and imaginary.  Which is why many dreams that we awake from, feel SO REAL.  You can relate to that, can’t you?    We can tell our minds that “this is not real” when we watch movies or go on scary rides and the such.  But when left to its own determination, the brain, without any conscious guidance, cannot tell the differences.  The brain just experiences these things as they are and tells the body to react accordingly.  I could be wrong, as I am NOT a professional psychologist, brain doctor or anything like that.  I’m just a person who loves people and wonders what makes them tick.  People never cease to amaze, impress, or entertain me.

Have you ever wondered how the outcomes for two people with the very same illness or disease are completely different?

It could be a myriad of reasons, for sure; none of which is proven.  Healthier tissues and organs in one person.  A healthier lifestyle.  Healthier blood.  It could be as huge as God’s Divine Will; which we have no control over.  How about mindset; which we do have complete control over?

Have you noticed people who have lots of “bad luck” seem to usually be continually deflated or low or pessimistic in their thoughts, speech, and behaviors?  Not all people with bad luck, but most.  Maybe if they changed their mindset things would turn around for them.  Could happen, right?  I know that when you’re down and troubled it’s easy to images-91sink into despair and depression…that’s where mindset comes into play.  You have to consciously tell your mind what to think about things; tell it how to react or respond to things happening around or being felt by you.

What if we applied this to all aspects of our lives?  Do you think we, as mere humans, might be able to slow down, stop, or reverse illnesses?  Do you think our mindset can change our experiences, our environments, our circumstances?  I think it could be possible.  Now mind you, mindset is not going to end a physically abusive relationship.  You cannot make others do the right things.  Mindset could explain why the abuser is abusive and also help the victim to create and follow thru with a plan of action to remove themselves from the situation.  But, that being said, let’s not read too much into this perspective.  Use good old fashioned common sense in reading this.  Like I said, I am not a medical person nor do I have a PhD or anything like that.  This is just me “pondering”.

Moving on.  So, let’s say you are determined to improve your financial situation by working from home; owning your own business – being an entrepreneur.  Your mindset must be strong-willed to complete the tasks necessary to go 35e90e188fa59ae8e7a35970bed84234above and beyond the normal stuff to reach your goals and dreams.  That may mean working extra hours, stepping outside of your normal comfort zone, talking to people that normally you wouldn’t approach about anything, ending your prejudgments of others, etc.  You will have to create the mindset to prepare and strengthen yourself to withstand the negatives that will come at you; the friends and family who tell you that you are crazy, the people who complain that you are always working and never do the fun things that you used to do.

You also have to have the mindset to not overdo any of these things and create a kind of balance within your life.  You can have it both ways; improve your situation while still participating in your life.  It’s just not easy to balance all the time.  But, fear not, for it can be done.  It just takes dedicated work and consistency and perseverance and determination.

Mindset can be changed at will.  Of the universe, we humans are the smartest…simply because we can reason more effectively; at least I think this is true.  All creatures have the “fight or flight” responses, but I think we can mentally play out various scenarios within our brains to determine the absolute best course of action.  A fly stuck in a spider’s web is probably thinking, “Oh crap.  I’m dead.”  Instead of something like, “OK, my legs are sticking so I should sit still, maybe I should spit on my feet to loosen up the stickiness.”  Something like that…silly, I know…but hey…this is me.

So that was just another one of my ponderings.  No answers really, just suggestions – possibilities; a different perspective on things maybe.
