Let’s be clear.  I make money on you; you as a paying customer and/or you as a business partner and the efforts and success you experience.  Everyone in marketing does.  Don’t fool yourself.  We are here to help others AND to earn an income.  The two CAN go hand in hand.

A GOOD LEADER

The more equipped your team is with leadership skills and knowledge, the more you are free to continue to grow and expand.  This trickles to everyone on your team.  You cannot be the end all and be all to everyone.  You will NEVER get any work done if you set it up that way. A good leader will teach his/her business partners to do the same with their personal enrollees/business partners.

That being said, it is in my best interest to give you all the support, assistance, encouragement, inspiration and problem solving help that I can…because, remember…I make money when you make money.  No matter how large the team grows, I should always be available to my personal enrollees/business partners and their customers, if possible…after all…I make money on them as well.  Some team leaders/business owners do not feel this way, at least their actions say that they don’t feel this way.  Many think that they are too important for that stuff and some even think of you as a mere number in their organization.  If you begin to feel that way communicate it to your leader and work it out.  If you are unable to work it out, then decisions must be made by you.

So, what do you do when you cannot work things out with a leader?  Bottom line:

  1. You can leave the company
  2. You can locate someone else in your upline (or sideline or from another team – I’ve done this and have established fab friendships there) who is willing to mentor or help you
  3. Your belief is strong enough, you can just do it, plow thru and create a leader and a mentor within yourself.  “WOW.  Me, a leader?”  you might be saying.  “YES, YOU A LEADER.”  I am telling you.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART

I always tell everyone to follow their heart.  What is a good fit for you may not be a good Love-Is-Magical-lovers-7560172-498-478fit for someone else. Don’t compare yourself to others; they are not identical to you…their situation is different from yours.  “All things being equal, and nothing ever is.” – my quote to others.  Run YOUR race.  Do YOUR thing.  Follow YOUR heart.  This is YOUR life.  LIVE IT.

DO NOT CHASE THE MONEY – YOU WILL END UP CHASING YOUR TAIL

Another thing, do not chase the money.  If money is your only motivation, then you are sunk in the water.  What company sparks your passion, a drive deep within you, something close to your heart?  THAT is where you will find and create the best scenario for yourself.  If you fall for the hype and work a business based on hype and money-chasing alone…you will quickly become deflated and unsatisfied, which will lead to quitting and the cycle of finding something new over and over again.  Take the time initially to figure this stuff out.  Yes, you need to earn money now.  I get that.  Trust me, it’s easier to take the time to figure it out NOW than it is to back pedal later, attempting to relearn and repair the mistakes you made along the way….which, no matter what, mistakes will be made…but you can lessen their severity if you invest time and research of yourself in the beginning.

FIND A MENTOR OR TWO

Locate a few (A FEW) people that resonate with your core being and learn from them.  Just because they have a “large following” does not mean they are a good fit for you.  Snakes live in communities, too.  So if you follow someone and they begin to not feel like a good fit for you, it’s OK to unfollow them.  This is YOUR gig, not theirs.  I can’t tell you how many “gurus” that I have left.  Sometimes their ego’s get so big that it pushes them right off the page.  Egos have no place…none.  Egos get in the way of accomplishing real things.  So, keep yours in check regularly.

Also, do not follow so many people that you leave yourself with NO TIME to implement things you’ve learned.  Do not put yourself into “information overload”.  This is a crazy place to be…I know…I’ve spent some time there…not a place I wish to visit ever again.  However, if you find yourself in these situations, you can escape them.  Just stop.  Take a step back…might even take a day or two to shake your brain free of the cloud of information…but you can do it…  Others before you have, myself included.

That’s enough for now.  I hope this info is helpful.  Trust yourself.  YOU know the right answers…they are hidden deep within you…dig for them, you will find them and then you will soar!
