Help Get My Son David to the National Youth Bowling Championships!

I could go into details and paint you one hell of a sob story, but I’ll just cut to the chase.  I need your help.  Normally, I don’t ask for help, I just muddle along and get things done.  This time is DIFFERENT!  This involves an incredible opportunity for my kid and I’m going to humble myself and do what it takes to make it happen for him.

My son, David has been bowling a mere 2 ½ years on a youth league.  He’s improved immensely since he began.  I thought he was good, but I’m biased.  Last Sunday, Palm Sunday, he bowled in a tourney and he WON!  We only heard about the tourney the day before.  At the tourney, he qualified and earned a spot to compete in the Junior Gold National Bowling Championships being held in Cleveland, Ohio midsummer.  I am TRILLED!  He is THRILLED!  This is amazing.  MY BOY COMPETING AT NATIONALS!  WOWZA!!!  I spoke to one of the volunteer coaches and he thinks David has a chance to place in Nationals!!!  The final championship games will be television on that Sunday.  SUPER COOL!

It’s an entire weeklong event.  I’m a single mother living on the bare necessities with minimal assistance from my estranged.  (A story for a different time)  I have driver’s license stuff and S.A.T. testing things for David coming up before June that I have to finagle and finance.  Kids don’t get cheaper as they grow up, lemme tell ya.  J

I’VE GOT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR DAVID.  This is HUGE!  There will be college scouts there and everything.  If he does well, he could earn scholarships to college.  I NEED YOUR HELP.

Would you consider donating to help get David to Nationals this summer?  We’re driving; there will be hotel costs, meals, possible entry fees to other events being held, and potential fees for practice bowling, not to mention that I have to BUY a spectator pass – ugh.  I have no clue of everything involved.  I’m estimating 7-9 nights in a hotel.  When cities have major events, you know their prices increase…good ol’ supply & demand.  Just like gas prices and holidays.  SMH

If you are so inclined, PLEASE help me make this come true for my boy!

Who knows, you might see him on the PBA circuit someday!

PS – the picture I used was taken this morning as I left him to continue practicing at the bowling alley.  He doesn’t like his picture taken nor PDA from his Momma.  He humors me but makes no attempt to smile; opting instead to scowl.  I call it “TEENATUDE”.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and his.
