iPad. iPhone. Tablet. iWatches. iPod. (if people still use those). Android devices. Flat screen, HD TVs with 3D capabilities. All these flat SCREENS. Touch screens. Screens. Screens. Screens.
We watch movies in 3D so they feel “real”, so we can “experience” the thrill, the feeling, get the “full effect”. But, WHAT is real anymore? Flat screens EVERYWHERE! We text instead of talking; even to people five feet away.
Real is LIFE! The person next to you would love to hear your voice or see your eyes. The top of your head, altho cute, is not as attractive as your face. The person you almost walked into on the sidewalk or the lobby would appreciate you watching where you’re going.
Here’s a proposal:
It’s a little scary for some but take a risk. Look someone directly in their eyes and then say, “Hi.” You’ll be amazed at their pleasant reaction. They, also unsure, may even be a little surprised. Some may not understand or know how to reply. Give ’em time. Try it again with them another time. Take your time. Pace yourself. Change takes time; don’t rush yourself. Some of you may have to practice this several times before you get comfortable, but YOU WILL become comfortable. You may even ENJOY this change in your life! I’m sure your family and friends will enjoy this change, too.
Give it a try. Several tries. You won’t be disappointed.
Much love,
Pam
