There is SO MUCH hubbub about this in recent years.

Racism affects EVERYONE.
Whites, Blacks, Yellows, Reds, Greens, Blues, Purples…Christians, Jewish, Muslims, even Buddhists. It affects ALL PEOPLE.

Not one section of society is racism-free. If you think that “your group” is completely racism-free, then you’re kidding yourself.

Racism IS LEARNED. No one is born with hatred in their hearts. We learn that stuff. But there is hope – for all of us.

God gave us each a free-thinking BRAIN. So, we each get to decide for ourselves if the crap being spewed in the media, or on social media, or in the songs we listen to or the movies and TV shows that we watch, and even things told to us by our loved ones…WE get to decide what is true for us individually.

Also note that because someone has a different view or belief does NOT mean that they are racist and against everything that you support. It just means that they have a differing opinion or belief. I am so tired of hearing/reading about racism. I don’t think there was this much of it in the 70’s, for crying out loud.

Just because your environment is swirling with racism, doesn’t mean that you must also. You can BE THE CHANGE. Live what you know is right. Society has been leery and hateful of differing races since the beginning of time. So, unfortunately it won’t go away in one day. But persistence against racism over time WILL change some hearts.

No one can save the world. But each of us has the ability to make a difference and change our immediate space. So I challenge everyone reading this to engage positively with people that differ from you. Differ in skin color, religion, political views, etc. Challenge yourselves to see the other side. Begin a dialog with someone different. If for nothing else than to get info firsthand, not thru the grapevine – filtered by the perceptions of others.

BE THE CHANGE. GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE.
